Coldplay

Hoy voy a hablaros sobre uno de mis grupos musicales favoritos: el grupo británico Coldplay. Fundado en Londres en 1996, está formado por Chris Martin (voz, teclado, guitarra), Jon Buckland (guitarra principal), Guy Berryman (bajo) y Will Champion (batería, coros y otros instrumentos). Su estilo se basa en un rock alternativo muy característico que algunos relacionan con Oasis o U2. Es uno de los pocos grupos de lo que puedo decir que me gusten TODAS sus canciones sin excepción hasta ahora. Sus maravillosas canciones transmiten sentimientos muy profundos, y sus letras son muy buenas. Su música se ha descrito como "meditativa", "romántica" y "que refleja sus emociones" en una crítica al álbum X&Y.

Además, el grupo es un gran activista en causas sociales y humanitarias. Participan con Intermon Oxfam y Amnistía Internacional. Coldplay destina el 10% de sus ingresos a la caridad. Además, hace un año subastaron muchos de los objetos acumulados durante toda su carrera y lo recaudado fue destinado a una fundación benéfica de ayuda a los niños desprotegidos (ver noticia aquí).

Quiero compartir con vosotros esta joya del grupo Pink Floyd. Se trata de su canción Time, del disco Dark Side of the Moon (1973). Es una de las más famosas junto con Another Brick in the Wall, Money, Shine on you Crazy Diamond, y Comfortably Numb entre otras. Este video está grabado en un concierto en Londres en 1994.
